Giving Hands Brings Hope to Hundreds with Successful “Feed a Family This Christmas” Initiative

Lagos, Nigeria – 20th December 2024 – Giving Hands, a non-governmental organisation dedicated to supporting underserved communities, has successfully concluded its Feed a Family This Christmas initiative, providing food support to over a hundred needy people during the holiday season.

This year’s campaign, powered by generous donations from individuals and organisations, aimed to ensure that no family had to go hungry during the festive season. With every ₦20,000 donated, a family received enough food to sustain them through Christmas and beyond, spreading the joy and warmth of the holiday spirit.

The Project Director of Giving Hands, Kayode Adeluola, said the Feed a Family This Christmas initiative is a part of what Giving Hands stands for, to have an impactful way of reaching out to people.

Adeluola said the initiative was born out of the need to bridge the gap and make the season brighter for those in need.

“Christmas is a time of togetherness and generosity, but many families find it hard to feed. We have people that this economic crunch has so much impacted, that they hardly have a meal a day. So we thought of doing this to put smiles on the faces of people this Christmas”

The initiative invited the public to nominate families facing hardship, ensuring that food support reached those who needed it most. Beneficiaries included widows, single mothers, elderly individuals, and families living in underserved communities.

One beneficiary, Mrs Ade, a single mother of three from Bariga, expressed her heartfelt gratitude: “This food has lifted a heavy burden. For the first time in a long time, my children and I will be able to feed well and I am so grateful to the organizers of this programme.”

To ensure complete accountability, Giving Hands will release an impact report in the coming weeks, providing donors with a transparent overview of how their contributions made a difference.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to this initiative,”  added Kayode Adeluola.“Your generosity ensured that families who faced the threat of hunger could experience the true spirit of Christmas”

Giving Hands remains steadfast in its mission to help the underprivileged and uplift vulnerable communities.
