BUKURU JOS idp camp
BUKURU JOS IDP CAMP
Bukuru IDP camp is located in Jos, in the South local government area of Plateau state. It is home to over 700 former residents of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states who lost their homes following a series of attacks by Boko Haram insurgents. Comprising of about 132 families, their hometowns were taken over by the sect and declared Islamic territories.
These people experienced horrifying tragedies while trying to escape from their homes and farms. A few pregnant women gave birth in the bush, many children lost their parents and families were separated.
Sequel to this incident, many have been rendered temporarily homeless, hungry, exposed to violence/abuse and susceptible to diseases. While the government is making efforts to ensure they are properly taken care of, they are still incapable of meeting the needs of this growing community. As such, concerned individuals are implored to make generous donations to support them.
