Over 40,000 displaced persons are currently sheltered in Abagena IDP Camp in Benue state. Of this number, 70% are children, many who have turned orphans overnight. Their displacement occurred as a result of violent clashes between farmers and herdsmen in Benue. However, after surviving this heinous incident, these displaced people still battle starvation, malnutrition, poor sanitation, malaria, diarrhea and other life-threatening ailments every day.
As individuals, we can help to mitigate the sufferings of these people who suddenly lost everything they had.
